Coffee Drinking slashes Breast Cancer Risk..!!

  • There’s some fine news for coffee-loving people especially women.Coffee's liaison to our health remains very multifaceted and not well understood. Fresh studies associates’ heavy coffee drinking to lower risk of aggressive type of breast cancer.
  • Recent study published in Archives of Internal Medicine though didn't prove that coffee directly prevents these cancers, but there's a strong association between drinking a lot of coffee and lower risk.

    • Women who drink more than five cups of coffee a day may be reducing their risk of one type of breast cancer by around 20%, after adjusting for participants' ages. 
    • When other factors such as education level, drinking of alcohol, and hormone therapy use, were taken into account, a 57% reduction in risk for cancers known as estrogen-receptor negative cancers was found.

  • So researchers aren't advising you start drinking pots of coffee as cancer protection, but if you already drink a lot of coffee and have a family history of either of these cancers, the new research may be reassuring. 
  • In the meantime, coffee drinkers can still dare to hope their precious brew is also good for them. As some woman says she has noticed benefits from her java habit. "I have not asked my doctor about the benefits of coffee, although I have noticed that when suffering from a migraine, coffee helps......I just love my  Mocha..!!
