- The most popular website to go for shopping is Indiatimes Shopping.
- I personally bought many accessories like clothes, shoes from here & am very satisfied with their service.This site is one place junction where you can buy almost everything.
- Flipkart has emerged as second largest shopping site in India. It is one of first sites in India which brought the revolutionary concept of COD (cash on deliver).Its user interface is also good which makes shopping easier. Personally, I have used Flipkart for buying books and novels and mobiles.
3. eBay India (Alexa Rank in India is 27)
- eBay India is not an Indian company but still very popular as it is third most preferred site for shopping.Products that eBay has to offer are tremendous. You can go to the website and choose almost anything.
- eBay acquired Baazee for Rs. 200 Crore in 2004, and launched its Indian version called eBay.in.
- eBay has a very good buyer protection policy. If you feel even 1% problem in the product, you can ask for the refund & you will get your money with in 2-4 days.
4. Snapdeal (Alexa Rank in India is 42)
- It is fourth popular website in India and growing very rapidly.
- This online mall is really good for accessories like perfumes, jewelry and other accessories related to them.
- According to me, this site is good for getting coupons for restaurants and other food joints.
5. Myntra (Unique visitors in June 2013: 13,173, Alexa Rank in India is 49)
- Myntra targets mainly apparels which are casual as well as formals.
- Has been ranked the top ecommerce website in India for June 2013. Myntra.com has been consistently ranked among the top three most trafficked ecommerce websites in the country.
- This site is mainly excellent for men’s and women’s attire. It tenders not only for adults but also for kids also but people like to buy for adults only.
6. Tradus (Alexa Rank in India is 64)
- It is also a great site to shop if you want to buy accessories like clothes, shoes, mobile.
- If you want then you can sell certain items also.
7. InkFruit (Alexa Rank in India is 379)
- Go to this site for buying only apparels which are casual.
- I purchased a pair of denim jeans from this site. InkFruit is only good for apparels only.
8. Shoppers Stop (Alexa Rank in India is 918)
- Shoppers stop is a good shopping site if you want to buy clothes.
- It offers variety of products but only good at apparels.It offers many accessories as well.
- Fashionara is really great for women. Men could also buy certain apparels but this shopping site appeals more to women.
- Again you could buy clothes, footwear, gifts and other accessories.
10. Homeshop18 (Unique visitors in June 2013: 8,109, Alexa Rank in India is 71)
- You might have seen commercials of Homeshop18 on your television set.
- Mainly, Homeshop18 is a great site if you want to buy home appliances like mixer, grinders, ovens, refrigerators, AC etc. It is the perfect site for these products.
- Prices are very low compared to your local shop. So you can buy home appliances from this site.
- Yebhi is a great site for apparels and accessories like watches, shoes, bags etc. You can choose apparels from wide range of brands.
- Junglee is a great shopping site for electronics goods and home appliances.It is also great for books if you want to buy. This site is not good for buying clothes and other accessories.
13. Pepperfry (Alexa Rank in India is 349)
- Pepperfry has some great household items like furniture, kitchen & dining and appliances.
- Good life caters household items and home appliances. But I prefer to buy only food items from this site.
- But if you want to buy a sofa, a bed or a table then go to Good life. You can buy products for your kitchen also.
15. First Cry (Alexa Rank in India is 456)
- As the name suggest this shopping site in only popular for babies.
- If you have a baby or a new born in your home then you could buy almost anything from First Cry.
- Best price, cash on delivery and fast delivery is some of the salient features of this particular shopping site.
- Baby Oye is second best shopping site for newborns after First cry.
- If you do not find certain items at First cry then you could go at Baby Oye.
- You can find wide range of products catering to newborns.
17. Sulekha (Alexa Rank in India is 52)
- Sulekha is also a good shopping site if you are looking out for properties to buy in your city.
- Buying, selling and renting of properties could be easily done at Sulkeha.
- It offers other services like mobile, health, travel and education but for me if you are looking out for a property to buy and sell then go to this site.
- OLX is an operates an online classifieds site. It enables users to design ads with pictures and videos; their selling, buying, and community activity, display their ads on the social networking profile; their access to the site from their mobile phone; and view OLX account in their local language.
- Quikr was launched on 12 July 2008 and provides the local community with a platform to help them buy, sell, rent and find something and address needs across many categories.
- These categories numbering over 12 and sub-categories over 140 range from Mobiles, real estate, cars, services, jobs, entertainment, furniture, electronics etc.
For Purchasing Books
20. Infibeam (Alexa Rank in India is 160)
- At Infibeam, I only shop books and magazines. You could find many great books and magazines which are not available in the market.
- You could also buy mobile but still I prefer purchasing books and magazines.
- Yes i am referring Flipkart again. Here is the reason why..this site established itself initially as one stop destination for books u can't find in Indian stores.This was the only site from which i purchased The Secret..!! :)
Finally, I would like to say all the websites mentioned above have some great qualities in them.There are many other emerging players in this market. You can also check some other great shopping sites like Jabong (Unique visitors in June 2013: 12,425) , SeventyMM, BigBasket, Bestylish, Koovs, Masticart, GoIndiaOrganic etc.
